Hi All, You know Singapore voted "Yes" for OOXML (Gasp!) against the recommendation of Technical committee recommendation of "No"
Anyway, at the international level, OOXML failed to gain sufficient votes and failed (atleast for now) There will be a Ballot Resolution Meeting in Feb2008 where MS will attempt to turn some of the nay-sayers to yes-votes. We also need to understand why SG voted in such a strange manner. Due to workload, I have been unable to do anything further on the OOXML matters, however, I am thinking of the following actions: - Write an article to be published by ST or atleast Digital Times and open a public discussion - Write directly to IDA / Ministry for an explanation - This should ideally come from LUGS committee - we members can sign Tomorrow, SMU will host the SLMG meeting @ 7pm (SIS, NSR2.2). If there is anyone who would like to work with me please drop me a note . We can collaborate and see whether we can turn SG's Yes vote to No vote in the BRM. BTW, I would like to know what LUGS committee has done or plans to do on this matter? So far only Harish seems to be working on defeating OOXML. What about the LUGS committee itself?
