Hi Gerald,
Thanks! Yes, if the SVN repo can be entirely brought around, it would
work for me. i suppose syncing the repo back to my home desktop can be
done in similar ways?
Thanks and Regards,
Edwin

Quite easily done, especially if you already have TortoiseSVN
installed on the Windows XP laptop. Create a blank folder where you
want to put your SVN repository, right click -> TortoiseSVN -> Create
repository here
Then import your working folder into the repository with url
file:///C:/Path/To/Your/Repository and check it out again from there.

Hi all,
Just exploring whether this makes sense...
i have some personal work, that i would like to make use of SVN to do version
control. At home i do the work on Linux, so no problem with that.
When i go on business trips, i bring along my company-issued laptop, which
unfortunately, has to run Win XP (but that may not be the main obstacle).
i would like to continue doing work on the road when there is free time, but it
still has to be version-controlled.
One option is to set my home PC as an SVN server, and just always sync to the
repo there. But i don't want to do that, because
- i may not always get internet connectivity on the road.
- the purpose of the SVN is for personal version control, rather than
collaborative work. So keeping my home PC on the whole time for this seems
overkill.
Hence, is there a way to bring the whole SVN repo with me when i go away, then
sync/copy it back when i return?
Thanks and Regards,
Edwin
