Members of the Linux Users' Group (Singapore), The Singapore Linux Meetup Group:

Jim Whitehurst, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of Red
Hat, will be making his first visit to Singapore on 8 April, 2008.

As a leader in open source technology solutions, Red Hat is committed
to building a global community for collaborative innovation in open
source solutions and fostering a vibrant open source partner
eco-system in all countries where we operate.

In conjunction with Mr Whitehurst's visit to Singapore, Red Hat will
unveil its Open Source Collaborative Innovation (OSCI) initiative in
ASEAN.  The initiative aims to accelerate work with partners and the
community to deliver best-in-class, comprehensive open source
solutions and to identify and nurture the open source skills necessary
to drive innovation.  As part of the OSCI initiative, Red Hat will be
announcing its participation in the IDA Infocomm Local Industry
Upgrading Programme (iLIUP), as well as new partners of the Red Hat
Academy in ASEAN, a programme for educational institutions to teach
students valuable Linux and open source skill sets.

We are pleased to invite you to the launch of the Red Hat Open Source
Collaborative Innovation initiative by Jim Whitehurst on Tuesday, 8
April, 11.00 AM at the Asian Civilisation Museum.  All guests are to
be seated by 10.30 AM.  Singapore's Minister for Community
Development, Youth and Sports and Second Minister for Information,
Communications and the Arts, Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, will be the
Guest-of-Honour.
