Finally, a reason to get an iPhone...};-) [...]

Okay, you spent several hundred dollars and a 2-year plan to install
Linux on an iPhone? d: I'd go the cheaper route (with complete phone
environment to boot). iPhone is just too expensive. ):

For me, the iPhone OS X UI is just too nice to give up! (principles will have to bend here)

In fact i'm learning Objective-C right now so I can write some of my own apps. I recently ported glxgears to OpenGL ES on iPhone as my initial starting out project - using accelerometer input for rotation... fun fun!

I was considering posting the sources somewhere (although you need a USD99 signing key from apple before you can compile code from source and load it on an un-jailbroken iPhone).

I wonder if open source will ever be able to reach the masses on iPhone? I can't see more than a small fraction of people running jailbroken iPhones.
