Executive Director Linux Architect for a leading European Investment Bank An Executive Director Linux Architect for a leading European Investment Bank, a rarely available position responsible for the Equity Trading Business. Our client is a leading European investment bank with increasing operations in the APAC market. This is an infrastructure ED role running a team closely aligned with the investment bank's trading business. This team is part of a global team responsible for supporting over 5000 servers in locations across the globe. As ED Linux Architect you will be responsible for leading the Technical strategy within the APAC Group, defining and architecting solutions in conjunction with the development teams. You will be overseeing a team responsible for support, maintenance and upgrades of the critical Equity Trading Linux Server. You will be responsible for managing application reviews, implementations and all post implementation reviews whilst managing client and peer support in regards to problem requests, issues and needs. The successful candidate for this role will currently be in a senior Linux architect position. Necessary Technical Skills; . In-depth understanding of the supported Equities / F&O / PB applications used globally within the bank. . Expert knowledge of Linux, Solaris and RedHat certified . Sun, Fujitsu, IBM and HP hardware . Veritas - Volume Manager, Veritas Cluster, Veritas FS, QuickIO - version 3.x & 4 . Extensive Investment banking knowledge necessary to run a team and communicate effectively with senior management and business users. . Operating system installations via JumpStart and Red Hat Network . Programming Languages - Shell (sh, ksh), Perl 5.x, awk, sed . Security Tools/Protocols -ssh, tcpwrappers, SSH, SSL, nmap, SEOS, eTRUST, KeON, ESAC This position offers an excellent salary and bonus package commensurate with experience.
