We plan to release version 2.3 at the end of July.

SLURM v2.3 includes support for the IBM Bluegene/Q, Cray XT and Cray XE computers. It does include some new features too, but changes are mostly to support the new systems. More information about the contents can be found here:
http://www.schedmd.com/dev/slurmdocs/news.html#23

If system stability is most critical, I would just migrate to v2.2. If you run one of those newly supported architectures or want the new features, wait for v2.3.

Quoting Aaron Knister <[email protected]>:

Hi All,

Out of curiosity, is there a rough idea of when 2.3.0 might drop? I'm still
running 2.1 and am trying to determine if its worth the effort of testing
and upgrading to 2.2 or just holding off a little while and jumping straight
to 2.3.
