I assumed it was from a source kit since ubuntu 11.10's slurm-llnl package is only up to 2.2.7 and he is claiming the use of 2.3.3 on ubuntu 10.10.

Were you doing this from a slurm-llnl.deb package, or from a source kit?

I am using Ubuntu 10.10 (maverick). I think it is a problem with installing Slurm 2.3.3 on Ubuntu. After following all the steps in the installation document, I still could not find /etc/init.d/slurm or /usr/sbin/slurmd,slurmctld daemons.
Please help!
