You're not missing anything in the config... sstat doesn't work on BlueGene. (And should probably be disabled in the build, but Moe/Danny can answer that.) It's trying to connect in to the nodes directly to look up current stats. As you noticed, there isn't anything for sstat to connect to to get that info.
