If you run hundreds of jobs per day then a netbook will suffice. If  
you run hundreds of jobs per second then a fairly powerful processor  
would be good. Memory shouldn't be an issue.

Generally having a single slurmdbd at a site is best. If you have only  
one cluster to manage than putting slurmdbd and mysql on the same host  
as the slurmctld is fine.
