Hi all,

the Gridengine way of handling FlexLM is the "qlicsensor" by Marc Olesen,
which is a sophisticated Perl script that basically observes the FlexLM
server by using "lmstat", finds out which jobs are "internal" (run from
within the batch system) and "external" (e.g. interactive license usage)
and configures the "total available for batch system usage" as batch
system license resource (= "free licenses" + "internally used licenses").
The batch system can then do its own license accounting etc as if there
was a fixed value for the corresponding resource:

Maybe someone wants to adapt the qlicsensor for Slurm.... and other
license servers than FlexLM?

Erik Soyez.
