[slurm-dev] Which branch of SLURM should I start with?

Hi,

 

I have now managed to set a up a small cluster inside a few VMs with SLURM
2.6.

 

I want to start creating the new scheduler plugin but am not sure if I
should work on the 2.6 branch or master.

 

Is master still compatible with a 2.6 install? Can I just overwrite the
existing setup with the binaries from master and still have a working test
cluster?

 

Or should I just stick with 2.6 and merge into master when I am finished?
