Yes, we discovered too that enabling debug (adding %_with_debug "--with-debug"
to .rpmmacros) gave a working slurm as well. Seems the old gcc that is used in
SL5.7 somehow optimizes the configuration file pointer to null pointer or some
such, which is really bizarre. And turning off optimizations (as a side effect
to debugging) fixes it.
