Also can you post the output of the following commands: sestatus lsb_release -a which mail As for the /var/log/audit directory, if the software wants it to be there then there's no harm in creating it. mkdir -p /var/log/audit chown erica:root /var/log/audit chmod 775 /var/log/audit To be honest, and without wanting to sound rude, if you're so unsure about fixing these issues then you might do better to get a packaged version of the software. We all have to learn this stuff at some point though. If your aim is to get a cluster up and running, maybe the packaged software would let you achieve this faster.
