This must be sbatch because I am testing behavior that
only occurs with sbatch.
I can address myself by having the sbatch script create a
file as its last act, for the purposes of a semaphore. Once the
file comes into existence I will know that the sbatch script
has completed.
I just thought I was missing something like PBS provides.
