One thing, could you send the output of: cat /cgroup/cpuset/$(cat /proc/$$/cpuset)/cpuset.cpus from inside the batch job of one of these problem codes, as well as the "scontrol show job" output for it please? That should tell you what cores have been allocated to it, so you can at least confirm whether or not there are multiple cores allocated. Best of luck!
