Wow. Didn't think of that luxury. Here, people will have to learn to use $TMPDIR (even setting special other variables for applications that do not use it) or live with 25 MiB of ramdisk on /tmp … You got a point with your approach. We have a bit of flexibility, though, with a global or local scratch directory as base for $TMPDIR (temp dirs created on both by prolog). So we like to educate them about the option of setting TMPDIR to the correct one.
