-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 Hello there, I've been trying to run some recent SLURM versiones (14.03.11 and 15.08.0-0pre3) in simulation node and things get stuck during node registration stage.
When I run slurmd it can't connect to the controller daemon and these messages appear on screen: slurmd: debug2: _slurm_connect failed: Connection refused slurmd: debug2: Error connecting slurm stream socket at 127.0.0.1:6817: Connection refused slurmd: debug: Failed to contact primary controller: Connection refused Everything is running in a single VM (Ubuntu Server 14.04 LTS) and there's no firewall up (no iptables rules or anything like that). I made different configuration in slurm.conf regarding hostnames and had no luck. I double checked connectivity using tcpdump, telnet and nc, and in all situations it was possible to connect to the 3 ports used (6817, 6818 and 6819). The same message appear no matter what SLURM version I'm using (I have to note that there's no mix regarding versions, I mean, when using 14.03.11 all the daemons involved belong to this version, the same goes to 15.08.0). The sequence for starting daemons are: 1) sim_mgr 2) slurmctld 3) slurmd The compilation options used were --enable-simulator and - --enable-frontend. Any suggestion?
