Kill all your slurmdbd's first, and check that all the associated processes are gone. Then as long as you've not got any important data there (and that seems unlikely if you can't create your first cluser) drop all the tables in that database by hand and then start one slurmdbd in debugging mode with: slurmdbd -D -v and see what happens. By the way is this is standard MySQL or MariaDB or is it a clustered version (Galera/Percona-xtradb/etc)?
