I don’t use mcapich since some years. I use this command : srun --mpi=pmi2 ./mm.o 6000 it works. If you do not, probably all cores available will be used. So it looks like you have 6 cores per node and thus 'mpirun' starts 18 processes. You should write some thing like mpirun -np ${SLURM_NTASKS} ./mm.o 6000 without specifying -np value, using "#SBATCH -n 16" as written in my sbatch script I hope mpirun will use 16 as the number of processes. however, I just realized mpirun doesn't read sbatch script.
