Hi, I have been trying out using 'parent' as a value for Fairshare and 'sshare -a' shows me the following:
Account User RawShares NormShares RawUsage EffectvUsage FairShare -------------------- ---------- ---------- ----------- ----------- ------------- ---------- root 1.000000 1796297438 1.000000 0.500000 root root 1 0.002252 0 0.000000 1.000000 ... dept01 parent 1.000000 0 0.000000 1.000000 group01 parent 1.000000 0 0.000000 1.000000 group01 user01 parent 1.000000 0 0.000000 1.000000 group01 user02 parent 1.000000 0 0.000000 1.000000 On the one hand it makes sense that the individual users have the same NormShares as their parent and grandparent, but on the other it contradicts my understanding of NormShares, which is the fraction of the total shares that an account or user has. Can anyone shed any light on this? Cheers, Loris -- Dr. Loris Bennett (Mr.) ZEDAT, Freie Universität Berlin Email loris.benn...@fu-berlin.de
