Hi Folks,
I've started an event proposal[1] for a BarCampDC. I'm gathering that
the next step[2] is to recruit a mentor, which would be great because
I have loads of simple questions e.g.:

o) Many venues have different 'charity' rates - does this count (there
will definitely not be a profit)?

o) Where are people doing the real organizing? private mails? google
groups? or?

o) What's an acceptable for sponsorship? It seems most will, at a
minimum, want a shout-out in the intros. Is an advert near the coffee
acceptable if they've sponsored it? etc.?

So, is this all I need to ask for a mentor?

Note, there is great variance in the "Apache Representation" in the
proposal. One, I mentioned it to vaguely in passing. One, I
mentioned it and they thought I meant a different event type. One, I
mentioned it to a couple beers deep. And, still others prolly have no
clue what they're getting into:) So, "representation" should be
interpreted as minimal committal so far and I realize I have some work
to do to graduate some people from representation to 'organizer'. In
any case, I think there's enough clue-fulness represented to give it
the oversight necessary to ensure it's an honest event.

Thanks,
