The Sri Lankan proposers weren't offered many options other than BarCamp because they were slotting in somebody's mind as "newbie" conference organizers and our current theory is that BarCamp is the "gateway drug" to Apache conference organization. This said, I agree with Ross that more interactivity would be an excellent goal for any future Sri Lankan conference.
