Actually in this case we really needed a term that wasn't BarCamp, because
those of us who had been to Sri Lankan events before knew that it was
unlikely to come out very BarCamp-ish.  But we knew there would be good
content there and that it was worth doing.  The Sri Lankan proposers
weren't offered many options other than BarCamp because they were slotting
in somebody's mind as "newbie" conference organizers and our current theory
is that BarCamp is the "gateway drug" to Apache conference organization.
 This said, I agree with Ross that more interactivity would be an excellent
goal for any future Sri Lankan conference.  Who was their mentor for this
event?

Me too :-). I hope we figure out a way to support them to throw a larger
show at some point.  Afterall, they did throw the first ever ApacheCon Asia
