Hi John,
All 802.11b compatible wireless devices can go up to 11Mbps only and
this is specification is based on IEEE standard. This speed indicates
the Ethernet LAN speed at 10Mps/half duplex and Orinoco AP also should
run under this speed(10Mbps). Probably the router speed set to 100Mbps
or auto. Using APPO can connect up to 128 users simultaneously, but
recommended is 30-40 clients which will maximize the throughput.

Subject: [smartBridges] APPO 10/100

All,
We have noticed that our Orinoco AP will light up the 100Mbps light on
our
router and that our APPO's will only light up the 10Mbps light. What
does
that mean for the clients coming into our AP's? Can the Orinoco handle
10x
more clients that the APPO? My assumption is since our maximum possible

throughput is 1.544Mbps (T1) that this is not an issue (i.e. 20 clients
at 300
Kbps is still only 6Mbps the AP would have to handle).

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance,

JOHN
