Not sure exactly what your struggling with but then I don't know how
your network is setup and is running.

But there should be no problems setting up with private ips and still
be able to manage things.. Where are you running into troubles with
this ?
Send me a layout of your network and I can get you some suggestions
how you can solve this. There are a bunch of different solutions just
depends on what the problem is...
