We're in the middle of buying furniture from a manufacturer who moves a ton of stuff through the ports in California. Just got off the phone with him. He says that shipping rates have skyrocketed in the past few months and that *everything's* being delayed at the ports because... they're being sprayed for SARS. ..and I thought ...hmmmmmmmm.
Some of his shipments have been delayed for weeks. That might very well explain why things are taking time coming in from Singapore.
