In order to provide some redundancy at my towers I use the same ssid for all APs and leave the BSSID to 0000000000000 on the cpes. This works well most of the time. The problem with this plan is that some clients radios like to associate to the ap with the weaker signal.(The antennas do not point in the same directions.) I am not sure why this happens. I would love to be able to give a list of the BSSIDS to try to associate with and in what order. I would still like to be able to put 0000000000000 on the list as in the case of a hardware failure at the tower you would then not have to reconfige everyone to get things redundant again.
Any chance there are others that would/could use this?
