I have noticed prolongued periods of off puts the unit to sleep because after 3 pings or so sometimes the unit will come back while nice, sometime scan be agrivating and theres no simplemonitor to manipulate it.

Can a coruption of this value be causing the problem with devices freezing up?
What happens to the APPo when this setting is enabled?
