To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]Had simular issue, but not at 7 mi.
to resolve I abjusted the Frag threshold to 1496 and the rts to 1024.
actually give me a loss of 0 and speeds to my backbone from 5 mi away at
4meg.Play with these settings and possibly the MTU size on the client machine to
match packet sizes.By the way, this is how I also fixed my going to sleep problem. After we set
the RTS to something other than factory , the prob went away and has yet to
return after abot two months.John

troubleshoot.HIM:

airBridge kept in son's closet (temperature not different from son's
bedroom: ~75 degrees)ME:

casually mentioned that the radio felt a bit warmer than he thought it
should. Unplugged and let cool for 10 minutes. When he plugged it back in, 0% ping loss!!
Plugged back in 2.4G cordless phone, wirless keybd and mouse. still 0%
ping loss. He's going to keep an eye on it ...and an ice pack on hand. If it keeps it
up, I'll be replacing it.Thought you might want to know.

Title: RE: [smartBridges] heat
From My exp. with all network equipment it needs to be
ballanced so you equipment is not reizing packets. Also, as soon as I found
the majic number, it seems for my network, all of my clients speeds
started to increase. I have 5 t1's banded coming in and some of my clients
report almost full throttle on off times. this is only after the
tweaks.
