I know at one point when I was having problems with my access point behaving similarly. After running for a while, the AP would fail to associate anyone to it. Now, I realize you are talking about a CPE, but hear me out. After shutting down the AP for several minutes, and turning it back on, everything was fine. Until a few days later, when it would do the same thing. Finally, I began to realize that I probably had water in one of my connectors, because I changed everything except for the stuff at the top of the tower. Finally, I went up and discovered water had gotten into the surge protector. I changed the cable and the surge connector, and "BAM!" everything worked fine.
All of these seem to run hot . . . not just Smartbridges stuff. Boy, you should try one of the satellite modems. Those things will almost burn you. -- Jeremy -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, June 24, 2003 12:12 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [smartBridges] heat > FROM: "John Mooring" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > Thats silly. That was (*cough*) my point exactly. My post was a bit long, but I think I wrote out enough info to show that a) it didn't sleep, it just dropped (95%) b) it had excellent rssi/linkq numbers c) cooling it down fixed the problem And you said "yeah.. me too; and frag/rts fixed it" ..and I'm thinking "...huh??" So I had to ask. > Frag levels have nothing to do with heat. I had a prob with > them going to sleep and with packet loss > > John gotcha. BTW... why "Glory Road"? Everytime I see your addy, a Daniel Amos song by the same title pops in my head.
