Sorry,
I just re-read you post. Your setup looks like this (right?)
subnetA <---> switch <--> ABt(infrastructure) -----------
ABt(adhoc) <--> switch <--> subnetB
The
normal minimum setup would be this
subnetA
<---> switch <--> AP ----------- AB <--> switch <-->
subnetB
You may be able to make this work (not fo
sure)
subnetA <---> LAN/router/WAN <-->
ABt(infrastructure) ----------- ABt(adhoc) <--> WAN/router/LAN
<--> subnetB
If this setup works
there will be sever limitations such as on 64 devices (anything with a MAC) on
either subnet, most peer-peer software will not work,
etc...
The only thing you need
to do to your setup is replace the AB closest to NOC with an APPo. If you use an
AP that does not support the address4 field you will have to replace the switch
on subnetB with a router and plug the AB in to the WAN
port.

airPoint in infrastructure mode to coordinate the whole thing. Or any wireless
router for that matter. How much do you know about wireless networking and
802.11b? This is basic stuff and common to all wireless devices. For that
matter, any networking device. You can't connect three or more computers with
ethernet cards together without a hub, switch or router of some kind. The AP in
this case acts as a hub of sorts.

They market a device that CAN’T be used as a wireless bridge as “airBridge”???
Please tell me you’re joking. These devices are already installed. I don’t even have the boxes they came in!!
Can someone from smartBridges please weigh in on this??

Using two AB you can only talk between the two computers directly connected to the AB. You would need to install some form of routing software to send the traffic beyond the first computer. You miht give 'Internet Connection Sharing' built in to Windows a try. Otherwise sherch google for personal routing software. Another idea (don't know if it would work) is to install this way... Message----- Can anyone help me?
All I want to is use the two airBridge TOTAL units that I bought as a simple Ethernet bridge (to link two physical Ethernet networks under the same subnet). If I set one (Unit A) in Infrastructure mode and the other (Unit B) in Ad Hoc mode, I am able to associate one with the other. This enables me to ping from Unit A to Unit B with no problem. I can even ping Unit B from a laptop on the same switch as Unit A. I cannot, however, ping any devices that are on Unit B’s physical network from Unit A.
I am going out of the country in six days and I must get this installation finished for my customer. Can anyone please tell me, step-by-step, how I setup the two devices to act as a bridge?
Thanks in advance! Mark
