From what I can tell from the picture, the chips that have changed are the 4Mbit RAM chip and what looks like a 44MHz crystal.

If the RAM chip has problems, you should see a lot of strange effects
and not only a drop in RSSI. Dunno what the crystal is driving, but if
it is unstable at higher temperatures it might cause unknown problems.

Anyway, they only changed two chips with functionally equivalent chips
from a different manufacturer. This should in normal circumstances NOT
result in a different temperature spec.
