I ALREADY TOLD SB!!!!!! ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!! Thank the Lord someone
else is seeing this. I know that Seeni told me this was impossible but I
knew it was happening. I am running XP Pro on my laptop. It almost NEVER
sees the ABO when I click search. The only exception was when I just used
that recovery tool on this last ABO....weird. I can also use a public IP and
configure the ABO that has a private IP. I'll bet my post is in the thread
pile somewhere.....lost forever.

Subject: [smartBridges] Searching for airBridges

I've got the weirdest thing going on.

When my installer puts in an airBridge, he uses a public IP address on his
laptop and has no problem logging into the airBridge, configuring it for
its new IP address (192.168.7.x/255.255.0.0), setting it to the proper AP,
etc, etc, etc.

On my laptop, I can never see an airBridge unless my PCMCIA card is on the
192.168.x.x subnet. Why's that? (he uses XP and I use Win98SE)

And stranger still... My servers at the NOC can never see a radio that he
programs. If I open up airBridge simpleMonitor and click the Search
button, not only does his radios never come up on the screen, but they
never show up in the arp -a list. What's up with that? Dittos for my
laptop. When I plug my laptop into the switch at my NOC or connect
wirelessly, I can never see the radios he programs.

And yes, they do work! I can ping the client's *router*'s address, and
*sometimes* their radio. ..but the radio doesn't come up on the search
screen and it sometimes doesn't respond to pings. As soon as I plug in and
program the radio (change it to a 192.168.5.x IP), voila! it shows up in
any search screen (laptop, noc, whatever).

I'm stumped. What's going on?

(Tom.. I'll need Eje's screwdriver when you're done with it)
