Firmware, software, hardware??????? smartBridges this is the question
Once you get a new release on the software that everyone knows that works >From my experience-----It has been everyone's practice in the past to keep everyone on the newest and latest software. Will we be able to upgrade all radio's to the latest release Thanks Joe K -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Del Thompson Sent: Friday, July 25, 2003 6:34 AM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: [smartBridges] AirBridge Firmware release 0.01.07 Alex, I've attached a block diagram of the network. I'll run more tests today to try to isolate the problem. You should run the protocol analyzer close to the LAN connection before it goes wireless. Can you show the network diagram? I'll try to do some more tests today and see if we are blocking anything. I never did see any TFTP traffic and I am running the protocol analyzer on the same PC that is trying to do the upload so I should see all of the traffic. The pings were not generated by me, they came from the Simple Monitor program as that was the only application running during the test. I verified that this can be done. Is there filtering or kind of access control that block TFTP? The output of the APPo hits a MikroTic router, then to a layer three switch, then the backhaul to our building. I set up a trace and ran Simple Monitor to the device. The trace shows a single SNMP get from the Simple monitor to the device, the device replies with no errors listed in the SNMP packet. After that, the Simple Monitor sends six ICMP Echo Requests and receives six SNMP Echo Replies from the device. That is the end of the traffic, the user trying to update sees 'Invalid Device' pop up window. If it is static NAT'ed or has necessary port forwarding to the device IP, I guess it should work. It seems to work fine if you are on the same subnet. Haven't tested from a remote routed subnet that is not NAT'ed. SB: Any thoughts on the issue? --Mike -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Del Thompson Sent: Wednesday, July 23, 2003 11:16 AM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: [smartBridges] AirBridge Firmware release 0.01.07 I've loaded it on our 'test' airbridge total radio so far. The Radio re-associated with the AP almost immediately and everything appears normal. The only thing I've noticed is it didn't like the admin password that I had. (CCCC4cccc) four capital letters, 1 number, 4 lower case. I changed the admin password to 8 lower case letters and it seems to like that. On another note, I'm having problems upgrading code remotely using Simple NMS. I can get into all of the radios but can't upgrade the code.... The error I see is 'Invalid Device'. thanks, Del -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, July 23, 2003 10:29 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [smartBridges] AirBridge Firmware release 0.01.07 Anyone have any luck yet? We have confirmed that the problem of "dis-association at elevated temperature" has been solved. We have done exhaustive testing in the lab. We have also done controlled beta testing with many users in the field. The results have been positive with almost all the users. We are continuing to track down a few reports of users having some difficulties. But we do not believe these are generic issues. Based on these results we are making the firmware available for download. http://www.smartbridges.com/new/support/beta.php Please go thru the special installation instruction to upgrade firmware on the airBridge (available in the website) The above link provides only the firmware Wireless Bridge (Ver. 0.01.07).rom and does not include the complete software package. Please use the existing latest simpleMonitor software version (1.51). AirPOINT-PRO Series ------------------------ We are currently doing beta testing with a few customers and waiting for the results. Due to large possible configurations, this will require some time. We have also identified a couple of minor issues that need to be cleaned up. The firmware for airPointPRO will be released shortly, sorry for the delay. As we release the firmware for the airPointPRO we will send an email again on PART15. Please follow the link as mentioned above. Please give us your feedback and issues using this airBridge firmware to [EMAIL PROTECTED] With Best Regards, Seeni (sB Support Team) The PART-15.ORG smartBridges Discussion List To Join: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type subscribe smartBridges <yournickname> To Remove: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type unsubscribe smartBridges) Archives: http://archives.part-15.org The PART-15.ORG smartBridges Discussion List To Join: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type subscribe smartBridges <yournickname> To Remove: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type unsubscribe smartBridges) Archives: http://archives.part-15.org The PART-15.ORG smartBridges Discussion List To Join: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type subscribe smartBridges <yournickname> To Remove: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type unsubscribe smartBridges) Archives: http://archives.part-15.org The PART-15.ORG smartBridges Discussion List To Join: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type subscribe smartBridges <yournickname> To Remove: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type unsubscribe smartBridges) Archives: http://archives.part-15.org The PART-15.ORG smartBridges Discussion List To Join: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type subscribe smartBridges <yournickname> To Remove: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type unsubscribe smartBridges) Archives: http://archives.part-15.org The PART-15.ORG smartBridges Discussion List To Join: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type subscribe smartBridges <yournickname> To Remove: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type unsubscribe smartBridges) Archives: http://archives.part-15.org The PART-15.ORG smartBridges Discussion List To Join: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type subscribe smartBridges <yournickname> To Remove: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type unsubscribe smartBridges) Archives: http://archives.part-15.org The PART-15.ORG smartBridges Discussion List To Join: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type subscribe smartBridges <yournickname> To Remove: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type unsubscribe smartBridges) Archives: http://archives.part-15.org The PART-15.ORG smartBridges Discussion List To Join: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type subscribe smartBridges <yournickname> To Remove: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type unsubscribe smartBridges) Archives: http://archives.part-15.org
