Not sure about Mikrotik, but for Redback we use the RADIUS attribs
RB-Police_Rate and RB-Rate_Limit_Rate for limiting bandwidth on user
accounts. Also Steel-Belted Radius interfaces nicely with Microsoft SQL and
it runs on Windows 2000 or 2003. We use the realms or domains ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
to direct customer accounts to different upstream paths for various value
add services, such as url filtering services. But it is wonderful
(PPPoE/RADIUS) for billing, auth, connects, disconnects, troubleshooting,
etc.
