I've not used the indoor equipment outdoors because as I understand it the temperature extremes are beyond the specs on the indoor stuff. You can see the specs on the sB website (aPP Indoor Operating Temperature 0 deg C (+32 F) to +50 deg C (+122 F)). I don't think it's purely marketing, I think they really do use different components for different
applications.
