How about a modular design where, if you want the router you buy it as an add-on and plug it into the buss?

We had discussed some of that in an earlier thread. Some of us
would like things to stay the way they are, or maybe have another
unit that is capable of routing as you suggest. That way those of
us that don't need the router wont be forced to have it sit there
doing nothing in the box. :-) We need to keep all of our options
open because not everyone's network is the same. Some people
like routed CPEs, some like Bridged. Some like DHCP CPEs,
some like static. Some use authentication and login of some sort
or another, and some just give the client a public IP and turn them
loose. If Nexus is going to be a big departure from what SB is
currently doing it will likely have some better options for some of
us. For others it's going to change the way we do business, or
we'll have to stick with what we have.

Hopefully SmartBridges will keep the current line going, as well
as bring out Nexus, so that we still have plenty of choices. The
current line of 2.4GHz equipment is great, and it's made it possible
for us to grow better than we could have with any other equipment
currently out there. (that we've tested anyway)

Also, I would rather see the price stay close to $300 for the CPE,
lower for bulk orders. If you make the price to low, then literally
EVERYONE can run out and buy one, and then the spectrum is
useless.

Just wondering if smartbridge is working on or thinking about making a radio with a builtin 4 port router/firewall? Boy that would be sweet :) Everything but the antenna for say around $200

Just a thought,
