I am sure he has checked this already I always verify my connections with a cabel testor so I dont see how this coudl be the cause if he does the same thing I do and I would think EVERY installer should do the same before beating thier heads againest the wall! $80 for a cat 5 testor from home depot or lowes is CHEAP insurance! Saved my ass several times when lookgin for problems and end up finding before hand a crossed connection
