I woke this morning and flipped the channel back to channel 1 on my AP.

All my clients flipped over an NO aged packets?!?!?!

WHAT THE @#$#?!?!?

Does anyone know what causes the AGED PACKETS? Could this have been
jamming. It started all of a sudden...only affect channel one (after
many months) and stopped sometime last night.

roof

Okay...here is the scoop.

I reburned my settings again with simpleDeploy (using channel 1--as
usual). I think it didn't take the last time I tried a few minutes ago.

I was still receiving TONS of aged packets (which has been happening for
1.5 hours now).

I changed channels to channel 6 and all my clients (19 of 30 so far)
jumped right over and associated. ZERO aged packets.

So...now it looks like it is some sort of channel 1 issue?!?!?!

I switched it back to 1 and everyone starts dropping off like flies and
the AGED PACKETS go through the roof.

I switched back to channel 6...and everyone is fine (19 of 30 so
far)...ZERO aged packets.

Obviously I am going to leave it on channel 6 for now...but...what the
HELL?!?!

Anyone have any ideas??

Sully

P.S. I opened simpleNMS to try to wake the units (seeing how they are
all manually set) by a ping or snmp query. It worked on all but 3
units.

Before I do that....I changed the channel from 1 to 6 (I don't use 6).
I immediately STOPPED receiving "aged packets" and started receiving
"multicast packets"...still zero "unicast packets".

I still don't have any associated clients though. I guess all my
clients are hardcoded into channel 1 and wont swap over to channel 6.

What could be causing this???

Is this what happens when someone JAMS you??? Never saw it from this
end. Doesn't it figure that I sent my spectrum analyzer and grasshopper
down south with an install team!!!!

Maybe I can go sniff it with netstumbler???

What exactly is AGED PACKETS??

Does anyone think this is jamming??

Hi Sully,

I am not sure what happened to the wireless statistics and power cycling
the unit will reset the wireless statistics counter.
If you think your aPPO is unstable, use the airPointPRO recovery utility
to recalibrate the memory and then restore the entries or values to the
unit. Then monitor the clients association with aPPO.

It now appears to be rebooting itself every few seconds...I sit here
watching the "aged packets" count up (NO UNICAST PACKETS RECEIVED), then
it resets all values to zero (and the few clients that were associated,
lose association).

Looks like my aPPo took a big turd?!!? Great and no backup!! I
actually tried to order one today even...still haven't heard back from
anyone on if there are any in stock anywhere?!?!?

Any suggestions?!?!

Importance: High

My clients are dropping like flies. Half of them cant even associate
now?!?!

I performed a "restore to factory default", then quickly reloaded the
MAC authentication listing. However, only about half of my clients are
reassociated.

I am also receiving a HIGH ack failure rate...not abnormally higher than
normal...but high nonetheless. It is the "aged packets" that's killing
me though.

I am running 1.4j.5 firmware on this OLDER style aPPo (not with
pigtail).

Any ideas....PLEASE!??!

I just logged into my aPPo and clicked on Wireless Statistics and
noticed that my "aged packets" are going through the roof.

What causes this?!?!

I also noticed that my ping times to ALL clients behind this aPPo is
running an average of 1895 ms. Compared to less than 10 ms for all my
clients behind my other aPPo.

Ethernet statistics show great.

Does this mean that my aPPo is CRASHING?!??!
