The RADIUS server under Win2K is crap. They had a perfectly good RADIUS server in NT4.0 Commercial Internet Services that allows you to use an ODBC datasource as your authorized client list. That opens up the possibility to automate a great many things. Why did they take that out of the implementation of Win2K server? GREED! It's set up now so that you have to have each of the users that will be authenticated through the RADIUS server as a user in the Active Directory. Which of course means more license revenues for Microsoft.
