Title: RE: [smartBridges] MORE ABOS crapping out
It does..  When I look at packets for DHCP requests Im' seeing the requester as the AB's MAC address and that it's requesting it for the hosts's MAC address.  It get's recorded into the DB as assigned from the host MAC

my dhcpd.lease file snip...

lease XXX.XXX.XXX.191 {
  starts 4 2003/08/21 01:06:22;
  ends 3 2003/09/03 05:46:17;
  binding state active;
  next binding state free;
  hardware ethernet 00:40:f4:38:14:ef;
  uid "[EMAIL PROTECTED]";
  set ddns-rev-name = "191.XXX.XXX.XXX.in-addr.arpa.";
  set ddns-txt = "XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX";
  set ddns-fwd-name = "k-o9v2w1gbih333.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX";
  client-hostname "k-o9v2w1gbih333";
}
lease XXX.XXX.XXX.178 {
  starts 4 2003/08/21 03:06:32;
  ends 3 2003/09/03 07:46:32;
  binding state active;
  next binding state free;
  hardware ethernet 00:26:54:0e:67:21;
  uid "\001\000&T\016g!";
  set ddns-rev-name = "XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.";
  set ddns-txt = "XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX";
  set ddns-fwd-name = "XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX";
  client-hostname "tv";
}

I also have the DHCP server update the DNS servers....   If anyone wants to run ISC's BIND v9 and their DHCP server and wants a copy of my configs, let me know...

Try looking at your DHCP logs when things get bad (lots of disassociations). See if your pool of assignable IPs is being rapidly cycled. Also check if the packet rate from 'bad' aBs is high.

We've noticed that even one sub with both aB DHCP client and host client enabled will exhaust the assignable IPs because DHCP-request packets do not uniquely identify the aB and host. This could be fixed in the aB 'proxy' by offering the host MAC as a host identifier (in addition to the aB's MAC).
