You can use the default setting on the router that is 1500 unless you are using PPPOE service the value is slightly lesser than 1500 which is 1492 I think, please check on that

For a router between my internet connection and my aPPO access point, what should I set the MTU to? I just got a Netgear 8 port VPN router for one of my PtMP links, and this is an option available that I have not set/optimized.

 

Any ideas?
