Ran 60 ft of 12 ga romex with the 13.8 VDC load side of the output of the solar controler.

Ninth item down is the 500 mw amp. Current draw AVERAGE is about an amp. Monitoring it for a couple hours I have never seen draw over 2 amps. I'm using 65 watt solar panel and 200 amp battery. marine deep cycle type. I've gone 4 days with overcast and rain and haven't run out of juice yet. I've used the solar setup for a year now on one of my other repeaters. Only problem I've had is where goat ate thru power cable !

I see no Amp how are you getting out 25 mile radius and of those what speeds are you seeing? Solar power how long does the battery last if you have no sun? or low sun does not seem like you are having the battery charged enough but then again it depends on your load. I was going to use 8 Deep cycle batteries on my solar project with 2 of the 2 ft wide by 4 foot long solar panel arrays..

Well, it's been a month now so I am ready to tell of my experience (good) in building a new SB APIndoor repeater (for use outdoors).
The repeater has been up an running flawlessly for a month now. Here's what is in it and the cost's involved.

2 - SB AP Indoor units                                             $323.00
1 - 15 DBi Omni antenns                                          $  96.00
1 - 19 DBi Panel antenna                                         $  73.00
1 - 12 VDC 200 amp deep cycle marine battery   $ 50.00
1 - 65 watt solar panel                                               $312.00
1 - 6 amp solar controller                                          $  38.00
1 - R520 outdoor case to house equipment           $ 48.00
2 - "N" to "N" pigtails 6 ft 1/2" heliax                       $ 20.00
1 - RFLinx 500 mw Bidirectional amp                     $ 110.00
2 - Pigtails for amp to radio and amp to ant.          $   38.00
2 - u-bolts to hold case to tower                                $     2.00
1 - Tube of silicon seal                                               $     3.00
1 - 64' Rohn Tower                                                     $600.00
1 - 4 yards cement                                                      $400.00
Misc. stuff ya gotta count....                                        $100.00

Time... About 3-4 hours to take SB API units out of plastic case and assemble everything into the weather tight case.
Software ... Air Point Pro Outdoor (yes outdoor) v 1.4j9 in APIndoor units.

Total (Approx)   $2183.00

This is a fully self contained off the power grid repeater on a 64' tower solar powered. It has run for a month now with no problems. I use SimpleNMS V .94 to moniter system. It has 5 clients on it at this time.

The main repeater is 18 miles away with 15 clients in town on ch 11. This repeater covers a 20-25 mile radius on ch 1. The backhaul is 18 miles with an API modified with APPO software. I have actually used the system from my mobile 32 miles away with a 500 Mw amp in mobile and a 2.5 DBi rubber duck antenna on roof of truck.

The point here is that SB Air Point INDOOR units DO seem to work in the outdoor environment with the Air Point Pro Outdoor software. If anyone wants more details e-mail me. This is the second one I have done this way now.
