I don't use the brackets that come with the Maxrad antennas, I replace them with two conduit hangers sized for the mast I am using....usually 1-1/4" DSS mount

PS....I'll try and get some pics of an installation.

Subject: [smartBridges] hardware mis-match

Hi all,

My subcon was doing an install yesterday with a new crew who noticed that all the U-bolts, pipes, and brackets were mismatched.  Since I've been getting the same from 2 different distis, I'm wondering how many other people have noticed this and what they're doing about it?

TheRohn brackets we use are for a 2" pipe.  The pipe we were getting is 1" (we just went to Home Depot and cut 2" pipes to use).  The brackets for the Maxrad WISPerformance antennas are for 2" pipes.  The brackets for the smartBridges radios are for 1&3/4" pipes.  (Our last install had different antennas, so we were able to mount the radios off the antennas' brackets instead of the pipe.)  My subcon insists that he cannot use the 1" pipe for a 2" bracket or the 1&3/4" U-bolts without expecting to bend the crap out of something and it wouldn't be stable.

My question to SB is, "can you guys provide 2" U-bolts instead of what you're supplying now?"  Or is there another method used for these installs.

Any thoughts?

Sevak
