The RUS program to
which some of the companies in our
industry are making application for financing is at risk on Capitol
Hill.
We have been encouraged by our Motorola Government Relationship Organization
in Washington D.C to encourage interested WISPs to let their respective US Senators and US
Representative know how they feel. To that
end we have enclosed a draft letter that might assist you in this
effort.
If you support the RUS initiative please
encourage your
Senators to support the Dorgan Amendment in the Agriculture
Appropriations Bill. The Dorgan amendment would strip the language in
the bill that would do away with the RUS funding. Please encourage your Congressmen and
Senators to contact Fitz Elder, the
key aide on this subject to Senator Bennett, the Chairman of the
Senate Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee. The Members of Congress
and Senators will know how they want to contact Bennett or Fitz
Elder.
