Derek,

I would not attach a 20 ft mast to a chimney especially if you are going to put a 24 db grid on it,  the windload on the antenna combined with the leverage of the 20 ft mast might break the chimney. I have seen older brick chimneys crumble with a 10ft mast and tv antenna on it. I would use a 30ft telescoping mast from radio shack or lowes and attach it to the roof on a tip up mount and use 3 sets of guy wires to secure it to the roof. 
(better to be safe than sorry)
