One possible reason would be your firewall prevents the connection. But given that in your error message I see "host:127.0.0.1" I am suspecting you are binding the daemon to localhost and not all IPs or the public IP on the machine. Try to make sure that `hostname` on the machines you are running resolves properly to the machine's public IP address. This is only a wild guess. I never had such a problem.
