Of course this disk is not in the database of this 7 year old version of 
smartctl :-)

Thanks for the problem report. For some reason, device type detection 
does not work and smartctl 5.39 handles this disk as SCSI. The output 
suggests that there is something wrong with the SCSI INQUIRY command.

Please retry smartctl 5.39 with option '-d ata' or '-d sat'.
