I have got a western digital MyPassport 1TB external hard disk with USB ID
1058:0740. The device is not available in the "Supported Devices" list at
http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/smartmontools/wiki/Supported_USB-Devices but
the SMART is working with the device. Can you please add the device ID to the
list.
I have copied the output "sudo smartctl /dev/sdb -d sat -T permissive -a"
below so that you can verify that it is working correctly.
