This is for a 2TB WD My Passport Ultra: smartctl -x /dev/sdc smartctl 6.5 2016-01-24 r4214 [x86_64-linux-4.4.14.20160630] (local build) Copyright (C) 2002-16, Bruce Allen, Christian Franke, www.smartmontools.org /dev/sdc: Unknown USB bridge [0x1058:0x0827 (0x1012)] I've attached the relevant output from dmesg, lsusb -v, and smartctl -x -d sat. The only thing I'm not sure about is the following line from the smartctl output: SMART Status not supported: Incomplete response, ATA output registers missing SMART overall-health self-assessment test result: PASSED Warning: This result is based on an Attribute check.
