I presently have my mail server running on OpenSMTPD on OpenBSD in KVM on
SmartOS, but for some reason every few months it stops responding and I have to
stop the KVM zone and start it again, even rebooting OpenBSD doesn't work to
restore service.  Given that, I'm looking to move mail to a SmartOS zone which
leaves me with Postfix and Sendmail (because I can't get OpenSMTPD to build on
Solaris (huge bummer)).  I used Sendmail before OpenSMTPD and since I don't
have the burning desire to learn yet another MTA configuration (my current
OpenSMTPD config is 6 lines!), I'd like to just use Sendmail, but it doesn't
start.

sendmail-8.14.9nb4 from pkgsrc in SmartOS zone.
# svcs -a |grep sendm
online                21:11:54 svc:/network/sendmail-client:defaultmaintenance
   21:13:02 svc:/pkgsrc/sendmail:default
# cat /var/svc/log/pkgsrc-sendmail\:default.log[...][ Apr 14 21:12:02 Enabled.
][ Apr 14 21:12:02 Executing start method
("/opt/local/libexec/sendmail/sendmail-Lsm-mta -bd -q30m"). ][ Apr 14 21:13:02
Method or service exit timed out. Killing contract 85791. ][ Apr 14 21:13:02
Method "start" failed due to signal KILL. ]
Even using the default configuration fails to start Sendmail.  Does anyone have
any ideas why?
